The father who sold his daughter.

After two long hectic weekends, I finally managed some time out of my busy schedule to go into a random village and take some new portraits. The next morning I was there taking pictures and making new friends. We had a big fat lunch and during our meal my guide (Pasha) told me about a family where the father sold one of his four daughters and later on the whole village became aware of it and threatened to put him behind the bars if he does not bring the daughter back to the village. It fuelled my curiosity and I was more than anxious to meet the family.

Here is the father (Koti) who has a big family to feed everyday who has his farming land where he grows supplies for the whole year.

Pallavi the eldest one amongst the kids were being sold by his father. Who is a very shy girl by nature. After the incident she hardly talks much. I didn’t ask her anything about that incident because I never wanted her to recollect things from her horrible past.

At the end Koti had to bring his daughter back soon after he sold her and now a days he takes care of them but I wonder if he really loves them.
